What Worked
The Rock and Mankind wrestled the only match that worked this week but it was wicked good and even the bad stuff really moved along because of the hot crowd so I give the total package a thumbs up. Steve Austin tried hard to guide Cole on commentary which was fun to listen in on. Austin's great for a wrestler behind the stick because he always gets right back to the match and tries to explain what's going on, which is also a great way to pay respect to your fellow workers and another reason to like the guy. There was only one monster bump but it was great and this was on proverbial free TV and the booking was mostly good. The finish sucked because I'm a mark for Mankind and the world title is getting fucked over due to the all too frequent and screwy changes. But ya know, storyline wise and all, this puts the Giant right into the mix on the heels of his main event duty the night before which is gonna mean nothing but more bad finishes to potentially middling to good to great WWF main events. Unless of course, I'm wrong.

What Didn't Work
Now's about the time HBK should have come back the first time so I no longer got a problem with him being on TV, and quite frankly enjoyed the heck out of his jabs at the Cock. But this sure was a chatty way to open up a wrestling show and at the end of it all I was bored so magic eight ball tells me: didn't Work. Hey look! It's the Giant getting ready to ruin a whole new promotions worth of main events.

I watched DLo Brown & Ivory vs. Jarrett & Debra and it was an honest to god didn't work match. Ivory looks like she knows something about working so that's a plus to the women's ranks but it's still like minus five hundred, taking a gimmicked guitar shot like a man, or at least Jeff Jarrett. Crowd loved this so once again, what the fuck do I know?!

Xpac, HHH, and Shane talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and ...

Val Venis vs. Will Gunn almost bought its way into the worked area with the clean as a Titan sheet finish from a real life GERMAN suplex. But hey! Gunn ain't staying over without Road Dog, the fans love Venis' schtick but not enough to want him as champion and Shamrock better save that title from going the way of the light heavyweight and european straps, speaking of which...

But first the Undertaker loses more heat and bombs on the stick while his dungeon of doom scowls.

Xpac and 3H vs. Kane and Shane (whoa!) was looking good but not long enough to kill the cruel finish. Yeah, I know it was a major screwjob and is gonna build heat for a Wrestlemania rematch but it's still Shane McMahon, son vs. Sean Waltman, wrestler. You betcha, it'll be better than anything involving David Flair because the WWF has style but X-Pac being one of the best workers in the company should be wrestling real wrestlers in real good matches. And the title kind of sucks now. I mean, MORE than before.

Bob Holly and Steve Blackman had one of those wrestle in the back and piss off the house matches. Some are ok, this one wasn't. They killed it early so no real harm done. Holly sure tried to get over on the stick but he's gonna need practice. Bart Gunn came back looking more and more like this guy I know which you could care less about but can you believe how forgotten he was? This was not good. Jammes carried this title.

Sable's a bitch so make her heel. Tried and true. She's still a lousy actor. The people behind GLOW must me kicking themselves right about now.

Bossman, Test and Ken Wayne vs. Midian and the Acolytes sure did suck before and after the ludicrous angle which made Team Corporate look WEAK.
