The Raw is War Workrate Report

A weekly look at what worked and didn't work on Raw is War by Oliver Postlethwaite

What Worked
D-Lo Brown vs. Jarrett and Hart brought the only wrestling goods of the show so it kinda worked. And kinda's good enough this month.

Holly and Gunn had a decent brawl minus the food, and it's STILL Steve Williams and the goofy mask was cool.

Chyna and Christpac have an ISSUE! So I'm SUPPOSED to care! It's cool that DX like to bump for Chyna.

What Didn't Work
I liked the half hour interview when it was Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels, and Austin & Foley can carry the right opponent too but the Rock vs. Paul Wight doesn't work in my world. You can say I've really missed the boat on the Rock. Foley was screwed out of the main event AND a match at Wrestlemania which really blows a whole in the line up. I don't get the card at all.

Public Enemy did their best not the fuck up and, hey!, close enough but a minute between the bells ain't cutting it. PE vs. the Brood is steeping in potential.

Ken Shamrock and Billy Gunn had a match. Venis commentated. My eyes glazed over.

I have to get this out, suffice it to say that Sable and the GLOW girls didn't work.

The Rock and Paul Wight didn't wrestle for the sake of an angle which wasn't very good itself so it didn't work. So there.

Steve Blackman and the DROZ are gonna feud. Hey, maybe they'll sweeten that Wrestlemania card with 'em.

Hey! I LIKE the Blue Meanie so this kinda works but not really.

The Undertaker vs. Kane in a W*ING inspired fire match AND a street fight on my TV in 1999 and I don't give a shit! Am I jaded or did this really suck?! Sure, so did Matsunaga vs. Pogo but it had character. Well, it was just really sleazy but that counts.
