What Worked
X-Pac and Kane vs. the Brood had the WWF's best worker, 2 guys who TRY HARD and then there's Kane. I liked the match enough to recommend it but Edge and Gangrel need major work on their mic skills before they can teeter over the brink of potential WWF superstar.

3H vs. MR. ASS worked because it told the oldest story in wrestling: "I'm going to work over your leg and then give you a figure four". Simple, basic and mundane in every possible way but it was more wrestling than any other match on the show.

As well, Mankind and the Giant vs. Bossman and Test worked primarily because there was rhyme and reason to the match (Test can't play with the big boys so he gets punked out of the corporation) AND Mankind doled out more punishment than he sold which was a nice change. AND Mankind got the clean finish.

Shane McMahon vs. The Rock sucked as an angle because no one cared BUT Shane bumped better than he has any right to so for that I'm sneaking this whole fiasco under the door.

The marriage of Stephanie McMahon and Undertaker was a great mid south in '90s clothing angle. I liked how the cross bobbed up and down when everyone made a run-in. I liked the way Steve Austin played his role as the reluctant hero. But most of all, I liked Stephanie McMahon in that dress.

What Didn't Work
Val Venis and D-Lo Brown had one of them "do some moves for three minutes then we'll switch to full on story mode" matches. Brown's once cool snap legdrop has been turned into a signature move which means he has to mentally run through his grocery list before delivering it.

Nicole Bass was the catalyst for two groaner roll-up finishes so she certainly sucks, as did everyone and everything involved in Jeff Jarrett vs. the Godfather. I like that Jarrett and Owen Hart get heat for being sexually repressed though.

Bradshaw vs. Shamrock was an angle and it had to be done I suppose but I still fast forwarded through it.
