The Raw is War Workrate Report

A weekly look at what did and didn't work on Raw is War by Oliver Postlethwaite

This is the latest and lamest workrate report on record! I'm digging the WWF's show but I'm just burnt out on writing about it at the moment. Happens sometimes. And with an hour and a half remaining until showtime, here it is:

What Worked
I liked the goofy every wrestler in the ring deal at the beginning of the show because you get to see guys you forgot were in the promotion.

Mankind had a bunch of cool promos on Slam Jam that were worth slowing down for. Mankind also ripped shit up haning out with Vince McMahon.

Jeff Jarrett's mom is hot!

What Didn't Work
TSN, for leaving all the good parts of the Austin/McMahon deal on the cutting room floor. And for censoring out Frank Cava's role model, The Godfather. Y'all suck!

Now maybe it was just me but, the Undertaker vs. Kane really sucked.

I've had a week to digest the Austin/McMahon kidnapping angle and it just doesn't sit well with me. No amount of disbelief suspension can erase the holes in it. And Austin is moving beyond being an ass kicking anti-hero to an outright sociopath.

A bunch of probably ok wrestling matches were used as filler for the soap opera. They didn't come across as being of any importance.
