What Worked
TAKA vs. Lawler didn't piss me off as much as it could have, and I like the spin put on it by Mr. Rasmussen over in the Nitro section. Lawler sold for TAKA which was cool, and he almost put him over clean. If the WWF isn't going to bother with a light heavyweight division, at least they're giving TAKA something to do until such a time comes when they can find someone for him to actually wrestle.

Dude Love vs. Road Dog wasn't all that and more but on a relative scale it was good and it was an actual wrestling match which is almost enough to get the nod on Raw nowadays. The post-match stuff was way better with the killer bump which better lead to something interesting like Cactus & partner vs. The New Age Outlaws (I can picture them coming out to something off a Windham Hill sampler).

Alright! Owen Hart is Mr. Intensity! All things considered, Owen is finally out of the shadow of his big brother, which is a good thing, but now under the shadow of DX, and it looks like he's going to feud with the lesser HHH. Owen with the world title would be so cool though, and very "Who'da thunk it?"-esque.

Hey, if Steve Austin can't wrestle, watching him throw things off a bridge has got to be the next best thing right? Well, it was funny, now go take a year off.

I didn't give Steve Blackman's Raw debut much of a chance so I watched it again and have to give it a marginal thumbs up. His kicks were good, he's got the right look and he's using a German Suplex Hold-oh! for a finisher. I see potential. The Boriquas entrance is the best!

DX vs. LOD was about as entertaining as an LOD match can get for me. The post- match was interesting, I liked DX giving Mr. Ass pointers on his leg drop. But isn't it scary that an Armstrong is being pushed close to the top level in a major wrestling organization? I mean, they only used to do that kind of thing in SMW. Not that the Armstrongs aren't a great wrestling family, 'cause they are, I just think it exposes the WWF talent depth even more. Or maybe this is all a set up so DX can win the belts from the NAOs and control more gold.

What Didn't Work
It was a double whammy of suck when Kane and Paul Bearer followed up the lame hollow threats of the Undertaker. And that's all I have to say.

Rocky Miavia oversells his facial expressions and he looks like a cartoon character. The Rock ain't quite there yet, seems nervous on the mic, but he has, as they say, potential. He just better not end up like HHH, a guy who's gone past having potential to being a big load.

Mark Henry vs. Brooklyn Brawler was just like wrestling the way it used to be: Steve Lombardi putting over a useless stiff every week. Insert joke here.

Tom Brandi vs. Sultan for the Raw is War Jabroni title!

What the hell was "Cure for the Common Show" supposed to be for? Vince didn't feel he'd broken kayfabe enough with the Bret Hart fiasco? An apology for the lack of actual wrestling talent currently in the WWF?
