Cheetah shot me this:

Nicolas Cage loses 2 homes in foreclosure auction

But it doesn't come close to capturing the trainwrecky goodness:

Nicolas Cage, Compulsive Spender

Naturally, Cage accused his business manager Samuel J. Levin, who is now filing a counter-suit, revealing more details:

Nicolas Cage's Former Business Manager Files Counter Suit, Claims Actor Went 'On A Spending Binge Of Epic Proportions'

Quote:
Levin claims as time went on, his advice was ignored and "rebuked."

"The pinnacle of [Cage's] spending spree came with his quixotic acquisition of Midford Castle in England and Schloss Neidstein Castle in Bavaria," Levin claims in the cross complaint.

The business manager claims he was eventually "terminated" and the actor hired a Certified Public Accountant to take over the account, an account which brought Levin back on board on an "hourly basis" until October 13, 2009, when Levin filed the actor's 2008 tax returns. A short while later, Cage filed the original suit against Levin.

Foreclosures don't mean as much as they used to. I know many millionaires who have "foreclosed" on homes. Many times it's a money saving deal, or just a bad business deal. And while it effects your credit, it doesn't destroy it like some people think. When the finance industry was different a few years back, you could get someone a loan the day after a foreclosure went through, same with a bankruptcy!

At least some one like Cage is still a viable actor and isn't strapped for gigs. Take someone like Pamela Anderson who is in bad financial shape, and at her age is having a hard time getting good paying gigs. Even her "Dancing with the Stars" isn't a huge paying gig. Rumored to be $125,000 guarantee + $10,000 for every episode she appears in.

The article doesnít do justice to the sheer absurdity of Cageís Pyramid.
Itís not just that Nicolas Cage had a 9 foot pyramid built, itís not just that he purchased perpetual care on a 9 foot pyramid.

He had the pyramid put in St Louis No 1 (the oldest cemetery in the city). In order to get a free standing plot at St Louis No 1 (assuming you donít already have a family plot) you have to track down the family that owned the plot and pay them to move their family mausoleum. By my guess Cage had to pay to have at minimum two plots removed (to fit the pyramid), additionally he clearly paid to have two plots inched back on the front side of the pyramid.

The pyramid isnít just naming your kid ďMoon UnitĒ Hollywood silly. It is full on Howard Hughes nuts.
