Well you can forget about Paul being a Knick now. Wonder who'll be the PG now. Perhaps they'll wait for Nash next year.
And Billups is tremendously PO'd now. |

Who cares is Billups is PO'd? He's a goner now or at the end of the season.
Chandler is exactly what the team needs, a tough defensive oriented C.
Baron Davis is probably getting amnestied, so he may be worth a look.
The problem is that this team is one that looks like it could be great for a 2/3/4 seed that would fall just short against the Heat.
I also hate that the Lakers not only managed to land CP3, but still have the Bynum chip for Howard....... |

Chandler deal is close to being done. Billups will be Amnesty'd. Turiaf will be gone. The most likely choice for point guard would be Toney Douglas.
Meanwhile the Knicks were close to getting Grant Hill but he felt he was low-balled after a 1 year/2.5 mil offer. He opted to remain a Sun. |

And the Knicks will sign Mike Bibby to be one of their PGs. Not a fan of this move. A definate disappointment last year with the Heat. |

He might be passable as a back up role player. :)

Billups unloads about the Knicks
The main thing I gotta disagree with here is him not being at 100% health being the reason for the loss to Boston. I would go more for Amare not being 100% than Billups. Though Billups was valuable for quite a bit of the season, moreso than Melo at times, he does have a point there.
he also has a point with the Paul talk. Even after Billups was acquired, it was clear to people that Paul would be a Knick in 2012. Which obviously wont happen now.
That being said if he gets his way, I would not be at all surprised if he ends up taking his talents to South Beach. Add more fuel to the resurging Knicks/Heat rivalry. |

Knicks are expected to sign Baron Davis. He is though expected to miss 8-10 weeks with back issues. He is an upgrade over Douglas and Bibby. But I dont trust him that much. |

Very uneasy 2nd half but the Knicks finally beat the Celtics for the first time in nearly 2 years. Melo was great. But they do need a PG to compete with Rondo etc. Thats where Paul would've fit in nice.
A bright spot today was Iman Shumpert the rookie guard. Hes going to be out 2-4 weeks with a sprained MCL. He might steal a lot of minutes from Landry Fields and Douglas. |

Knicks are now 2-4. The latest embrassing loss was tonight, losing by 18 to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Iman continues to be a bright spot. 18 points tonight and he's bound to be a starter at some point this year. |

The loss was by 8, not 18, but it was embarrassing, particularly after an even worse loss to the Raptors on Monday.
I knew it was going to take some time for this team to gel, but the lack of defense is alarming, as is the regression of landry fields.
The offense is totally out of rythm too, as Amare seems lost out there.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Baron can't get here soon enough. |

Knicks have lost 4 in a row and are now 6-8.
At this point Baron could be just what the Knicks need after all. But I cant see him being 100% healthy when he returns. Maybe theyre better off waiting for the offseason to get either Nash, Jameer Nelson, or Felton as their mid level exception. |

I should start researching Mike Woodson and see if he'll be an upgrade over D'antoni. This is getting very ridcilous.
And as bad as things are, I cant see a Melo/Deron Williams trade. That would be up there with dumb moves the Knicks have made this past decade. |

They're stuck with Melo. He wanted to play there, so it's done. They'll shift everything else around to fit him: coach, other players, etc.
I don't think Mike D is a horrid coach. He might never be able to win an NBA Title with his style of play, but with the right type of talent to play the style, he can put out and entertaining and "good" team. I think we talked about this last year when the trade was made that Melo wasn't exactly the right guy for a Mike D team. He makes the defense worse, which is a bad thing when defense already is bad in a Mike D team. His offense style of play also doesn't fit in well.
I think folks will look back at the Stoud and Melo deals as mistakes.

Knicks are tied with the Nets with a 7-13 record.
They have to be up there with Most Disappointing team so far. Just pathetic. |
