I watched the 4th quarter of this game. Lonzo looked good taking the ball to the hoop and finishing with his left hand. With Lopez being a threat from outside, the lane was wide open a few times and Lonzo took advantage. Ingram apparently shot well in the first 3 quarters, which is a positive sign.

Much better, but PHX are freaking awful. Two teams with horrible defense running up and down the court. It was entertaining to watch, but let's not get too giddy. Happy is good. But we need to stay calm and realistic. :)

New Orleans on Sunday presents an entirely different obstacle. They are coming off making the Dubs work for a win last night with Brow going 35-17 while Boogie went 35-14.

They competed well. Seemed like a real game. I got into it & could see some thinking involved. But PHX is in worst shape than us right now. All they have is Booker.

The fucking Clippers just love kicking the Lakers ass. I'm starting to hate them.---Yohe

How bad Phoenix is evened out by the fact that:

A) Lakers suck, too

B) 2nd night on the road of a back-to-back

And Lonzo is special. None of these other guys have been or are.

That's all for now.

Randle is likely to get traded before the all star break. They aren't going to want to clog up cap space with his extension, not have a cap hold on him as a RFA. He doesn't want to come off the bench, and Luke is clearly annoyed with him. I've been a broken record that he doesn't fit the modern NBA with his skills and ability to read the game. Gotta go.

We do have a long term problem with our wet dream:

PF Lebron
SF PG
PF Nance
SF Ingram
SF/PF Koozma

They don't need all those guys if Bron and PG come. Ingram isn't a SG, as much for the ability to guard the other team's best Guard as anything else because Ball is quite the poor defender. We're going to need to play a 3&D SG in a Bron-PG-Ball line up, as you don't really want Ball having to full time guard people like Curry or Westbrook or Harden. Ingram sure as hell isn't going to do that.

My guess is that Ingram is going to be the price to get Deng off the books, with the prayer of getting something useful back (like Lopez will be useful this year in return for Timo & DAR).

Roster composition next year is going to be a challenge, and be done by two people who have zero experience. Not impossible, and you always would take Bron and PG. But on our current roster, only Ball and Kooz (who would be off the bench) fit those two at all. Zubac doesn't at all. Clarkson can't defend his way out of a paper bag, and has a contract above his weight. Nance doesn't really... but we're likely to stick with him because the staff like's his effort even if there will be fit issues.

We're going to need:

Starting PG
Starting C
Back up C
Back up SG
Back up PG

That's assuming Kooz as the back up SF (not unreasonable to hope) and Nance as the back up PF (fit issues, but he likely won't log a ton of minutes come key playoff games).

That's a lot of work, with a limited budget if Bron and PG demand their max... and again by two people who have zero experience in building rosters.

I think it's one of LeBron or Paul George and Boogie.

I know that address all of your concerns, since Boogie is a giant wart, just saying tho.

And really if it's LeBron, everything fits pretty, pretty good. :)

I'll puke if it's Boogie.

I'd much rather eventually get Davis when he tires of New Orleans being totally inept. ;)

You'll get Boogie and like it. AD will be a Dub in 2021. :-)

I don't think AD lasts that long in New Orleans. :)

Lonzo may have a bigger target on his back now. Which isnt his fault of course:

This is what the Lakers had to have feared.

If Lonzo continues to act in a respectable way & they get to know him as a straight guy....all this heat with disappear. It's not him doing the talking.

It's going to be a long season.--Yohe

That was a fun night and I didn't even watch the Dodgers game.

Good to see Randle stop sulking and Ingram play like a No.2 pick.
