In addition to going 18/23 from 3, the Clips:

* got 53 points from their bench
* got 32-9 and 25-11 out of Harris & Danilo
* won the 4th 33-26
* held Klay to 12 points

Yet...

Steph and KD dropped 77 points on them, and down the stretch that was what mattered.

Anyone notice that the Dubs are #1 in the West despite being a trainwreck for most of the year? :)

They're percentage points below Denver at the moment, but should regain the top spot shortly.

Funny moment from last night's game:

In Blake Griffin's return to LA, he had 44 points in a Detroit win.

Clippers though still in the West Playoff picture.

The diss of Ballmer, then Ballmer's shrug afterwards were classic. I love the NBA.

In the Clipper vs N. O. game a few night a go, Davis threw a shoe & he got a full court pass & laid it in. While he was doing it, Beverley climed on the court and got his shoe & hid it on the Clipper bench. Davis went looking & couldn't find it....so he kept playing. At a time out, Lou William gave him the shoe...and the referee gave Beverley a T. Davis went on to score over 40. What fun! I had never seen a player steal a shoe in a game before.--Yohe

The Clips may be faltering a little, but hopefully Boban's movie career doesn't follow suit. He has a role in the new John Wick flick:

Jordan got traded to the Nicks. Now we'll find out what his value is to a team. He is back to being a FA next year...right? To me, he is a strange player. Don't know if he in underrated or overrated. Have no idea.--Yohe

There's a chance he gets bought out and doesn't play at all with the Knicks. Which means some contender will sign him through the playoffs.

Clippers were losing by 25 at one point tonight. Only to beat Detroit by 10 points.

Impressive.

2nd time this past week that they came back from 20 down to win. Impressive.

They are also one of the teams listed by Anthony Davis that he would go to. Its a long shot he'll go there though.

From Woj, "Sources: Clippers and Sixers have agreed to trade Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, Mike Scott for Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, 2020 first-rounder, 2021 unprotected 1st via Miami and two second rounders (2021, 2023).

The Logo is playing some chess.

well they got rid of their best player who'll make Philly a favorite in the East. And probably punted their playoff hopes, and hopes for Anthony Davis away. But they stocked up on their future. Which they sorely need.

From ESPN's Kevin Pelton:

"If we consider this trade the second part of a series with last year's Blake Griffin deal, which yielded Harris and the pick (after a trade up one spot) that became Gilgeous-Alexander, the results are incredible. In addition to clearing the cap space necessary for this summer's free-agent dreams, trading Griffin ultimately produced three future first-round picks and recent first-rounder Shamet -- an unbelievable return given the size of Griffin's remaining contract."

Yup.

They clearly want to make a play on Leonard in the off season. The question becomes whether they will have the pieces to make a run at Davis as well. They are a bit shy of it now, but they might not be done.

Gallinari may be on the block. He has another $22M on the books next year and all those health issues, so that might be tough.

Probably Lou and/or Bradley since Shamet needs playing time to showcase. Bradley isn't going to get anything since he has another year on his contract. Lou has 2 years, but a cheaper annual amount.

I think it was becoming clear that there play was slipping & they do not need a 1st or 2nd round loss again. It has Jerry West written all over it. Why didn't we read about this for two weeks before it happen? It would have been hard to make this deal, if the fans were bitching about it before it happened. This was a gutsy move.--Yohe
