I just watched this:
#1027—THE DESTROYER TAPE #3
--THE DESTROYER VS DICK MURDOCH (5-6-78)
--THE DESTROYER & JUMBO TSURUTA
VS (5-26-78)
BILLY ROBINSON & ARWIN SMITH
--THE DESTROYER & JUMBO TSURUTA
VS (6-1-78)
BILLY ROBINSON & MARIO MILANO
--SHOHEI BABA & THE DESTROYER
VS (6-10-78)
ARWIN SMITH & MARIO MILANO
(PWF US TITLE)
--THE DESTROYER VS MIL MASCARAS 2/3 FALLS (TITLE CHANGE)(8-18-78)
--THE DESTROYER & JUMBO TSURUTA
VS (8-31-78)
MOOSE MOROWSKI & RANDY TYLER
Dan---You did a great job on the 8-18-78 title change with Dick vs Mil. You can see everything in the first two falls now. It has roll marks & some noise, but the picture doesn't roll & it's very watchable. All mat work. I'm very happy with it. The 3nd fall is perfect. Thanks...you made an old man happy. I didn't think it could be done. Please send it everywhere.--Yohe |

I will spread the word.
Glad you enjoyed it. I have been converting old vhs
tapes for about 16 years now, and have a trick or two
up my sleeve. :-)

--THE DESTROYER SPECIAL (6-14-79)
--SHOHEI BABA VS THE DESTROYER
I was really disappointed in this. Didn't remember my copy being so bad. Maybe it got worst laying around for 20 years.--Yohe |

Let me see what i can do. As tapes age, they will degrade, but i can double check for you.

Just work on the match with Baba. The clips of the Rikidozan & Toyonobori matches isn't worth it.---Yohe |

I reconverted the Baba vs. Destroyer portion of the special.
Video keeps going in and out, regardless of which VCR I play it on.
There are some streaks on the screen, which means the videotape was probably dirty when your physical copy was made.
I knocked down the audio hiss as much as I could, using just the left side audio feed.
Looking at the first conversion I did for you, this new conversions does not appear to be improved at all.
I do have some tricks up my sleeve though. I might be able to track down another version of this match.
Stay tuned!

The Destroyer twice wrestled Bob Backlund for the WWF World Title. The first was a draw (DCOR) in Toronto on Jan. 13, 1980, and the second was on March 1, 1982 in Montreal (a loss). To me it seems a guy who wrestled for the WWF Title is in the WWF.---Yohe |

Dick has been in & out of the hospital during the year, and is now at home with his family on Hospice care. He talked to Dan Westbrook. Seems weak, but hanging in there. The feeling is that time is running out.
The family has put out the word that Dick would like to hear from his friends & fans, thru letters & cards. His address is 7023 Sand Hill RD, Akron, NY, 14001.
I don't know how I'm going to take this, if it happens. As far as my wrestling life or life in general, he has been the most important person. He has been a great wrestler and person and friend. He is the last of his generation. I think he was my only reason to be a wrestling fan.---Steve Yohe |
