Henry Abbott at True Hoop:

Were the Lakers ever really magic: LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Jeanie Buss, and the sinking Lakers

Just to make a point on the piece - read it through to the end, even is it's brutal on the organization. There is someone we should chase, and he may be available as things meltdown up north. We should move fast.

Luke walton fired.

Woj is saying Ty Lue is the frontrunner for Coach. So a Bron guy. and a former Laker champion as well.

So Pelinka hasn't gotten the axe yet. I guess they don't want to piss off Kobe if he's dismissed.

Someone posted this on April 6: "It's seem like Laker ownership needs to be changed. The Lakers died with Jerry Buss."

I can't see Jennie selling, so they should be interviewing anyone with an idea & has a plan. Look at everyone, who wants in, and has done something. You can't spend money on players anymore, so buy three guys who could be GM. You need more basketball brain power. The Dodgers have three or four former or present GM'ers in their office. Hirer scouts...who would be young guys or old with a tract record. Guys who think $80,000 is a lot of money. Hungry for something new. Then find a president. If any of these people had big egos or couldn't work with other smart guys. Get rid of them. They would have to work as a team. Don't get Hollywood types. Get coachs from collages or even high schools. Figure out who has a mind & who doesn't. Hirer anyone who can help. If you can't figure it out...you are shit.

Have Jennie sit in her chair courtside with her girl friends. Have real basketball minds running everything. Do not hirer Koby for anything!!!! It's magic all over again. If she isn't in on the plan....then don't do anything. Just sit around with her girl friends & longtime fans from Hollywood & wait to get lucky.

Spend money on basketball minds & forget former Lakers & Hollywood types.

They have no one left who can judge talent. Jerry West spent all his time traveling...scouting talent. He ate lunch with John Wooden, 4 time a week. He also loved being around basketball minds. Everyone wanted his respect & he was friends with everyone. He could make deals whenever he needed a McAdoo or Thompson. They blew West off. No room for him.

As for the announcer. Firer all those ass kissing positive jerks they have on TV. Get people there who are interesting, smart, and willing to stick their necks out & say something. Right now, there is nothing to be positive about...so stop smiling. Chick Hern would have been a mean mother fucker over the last 10 years. He would have been going crazy with the loosing and tanking.

We are now at the point that no one remembers the old Lakers. We are at this moment & for the last bunch of years.. the shits. No one respects us anymore. Most hate us. No FA is going to want to come here. We haven't just been out of the playoffs for 6 years, we have been jobbing games to create dreams about a future....that fell apart. We have to start over & they are nuts if they try it with the same people.

All the BS talk about world championships, should be stopped & forgotten. Tell the frontrunner fans to shut up. I lost respect for them when they drove Paul Gasol out of town. Forget show time. It's all bullshit. We need to create a base to work off of, and produce a few respectable teams. Play the best you can...with what you got. Don't play for money. Play hard but be respectable.....and never cheat or blame your problems on things like referees or injuries. Win 42 to 48 games for a few years, before worrying about world titles. With time, you might get your respect back, and change the thinking that exists now.---Steve Yohe

Luke Walton could be the Kings' head coach very soon. Hopefully he'll not end up like the past couple of coaches there who were terminated.

And now he did agree to become the next head coach. Very quick process there. Just over 24 hours.

Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka Email Exchange Could Have Led To Magic Johnsonís Resignation

Quote:
Appearing on The Herd, Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report revealed an email exchange between owner Jeanie Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka could have led to Johnsonís resignation:

ďMy understanding is that there were some emails that were exchanged between Rob and Jeanie about what Magic was and wasnít doing. They were critical emails and somehow, some way, Jeanie ó from what I understand ó was CCing or blind CCing Magic on everything. That was sort of protocol, standard issue. Somehow, the exchange between Rob and Jeanie ended up on that string of the blind CCs that were going to Magic. So, Magic now is seeing emails from Rob to Jeanie that were critical of what he was doing. And maybe most important in all of this, thereís no indication that Jeanie was backing Rob up in terms of either going to Magic and letting him know that this was going on. Or going back at Rob and defending Magic. That was not happening. And so when he talked about the backstabbing, my understanding is thatís what started it.Ē

We look even more bush league.

The only thing that's going to turn this around is if we sign Bob Myers as President once the Warriors season ends. I don't think there's any chance R. C. Buford leaves the Spurs, and he's also almost 60. Myers is mid-40s, has been the Dubs GM since 2012, and is likely in the process of being edged out by the Owner's Son. Back up the Brink's Truck and get it done.

It seems as if Ty Lue will reunite with Bron in LA, as the new Lakers coach. Monty Williams, the other top candidate will be the coach of Phoenix.

and ty lue and the Lakers are moving on.

Jason Kidd might be a favorite. They have to make sure they find someone who is on the same page with Bron and then some. I don't know if Kidd is. Some other names under consideration include Frank Vogel, Mike Woodson, and Lionel Hollins. And Kurt Rambis is playing a big part of that process too.

Interesting one name not listed is Mark Jackson. It seems if he's not part of this process, I can't see him anywhere else.

Every time you think things can't get worse in LakerLand, things go further off the cliff. It's a fucking mess.

Jennie wanted Rambis as a assistant coach & Lue didn't like it. Now Rambis is finally going to be coach? Why not go drag out Phil Jackson again? He did have sex with her? But then again...it didn't help Magic.

Was this the time to play cheap with Lue?

Lakers have sunk below the Clip level & are sitting with the NY Nicks. It's gone way past just bad luck. I'm waiting on James to ask out. Why waist your last two years?

No one remembers the good old days anymore. There is still the Dodgers.--Yohe

Frank Vogel, who coached in Indiana among other places, will be the new Lakers head coach.

Well a better choice than Jason Kidd at least. Although he will be an assistant to Vogel. Good luck to him though in that insane environment.

If itís not the Knicks, Bulls or Lakers getting Zion, Adam Silver should be fired for negligence.

David Stern never let these chances slip thru his awful lilí fingers:

Ewing to NY
Shaq & Penny to Orlando
LeBron to Cleveland
DRose to Chicago
Kyrie to Cleveland

Silver not delivering KAT or Simmons to the Lakers is what has us in this mess. Shit even jumping up a little the Randle year to get Embiid.

What good is a commissioner if he canít save his most important franchise from a couple of Playboy sluts?

:P
