My game show peak was from 1974 to 1976 when I lived in Portland, Maine and we only got four channels, one of them PBS. I moved to California at the beginning of 1977 and there were lots of "independent" UHF channels so I switched to watching syndicated cartoon shows like the ones currently running on Boomerang. I probably stayed with "Match Game" until about 1978 before losing interest. I didn't notice that "Wheel" had done away with Chuck Woolery, "the lovely Susan Stafford", and shopping until sometime in the late eighties when annoying relatives insisted on using the Wheel/Jeopardy block as a "fun" background during family dinners. To this day I loathe Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek.
