Porzingis is unhappy again:

I wouldn't be that surprised if he is in the Nets' future. They seem more and more destined to be maybe a bigger player than the Knicks in the next couple of years at least. Plus they have a stronger and more cohesive environment there.
And apparently he's on the trading block. So he might be moved before next week's trade deadline, despite perhaps not playing a game this year. |

That was quick. He goes to the Mavs with Tim Hardaway JR and Courtney lee for Dennis Smith JR, Deandre Jordan, Wesley Matthews and draft picks.
The belief with the Knicks is that they're hoping to get two max players next year. Good luck with that.
The thought of Porzingis and Luka as a duo is going to be something to behold. |

17 losses in a row. Including two losses to their competition this year in the Cavs.
At least the tanking fans are pleased. |

Well another down start to the year and David Fizdale is gone:
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28238796/sources-knicks-fire-david-fizdale-eastern-conference-worst-4-18-mark
They've actually held their own against some of the top teams in the league. They actually beat the Dallas Mavericks twice, and have had double digit leads against some of the top teams in the East. However they've blown most of those leads because the personnel they have can't compete with the stars of those teams come crunch time.
I think one of the more confusing things this year has been Fizdale not playing some of their top rising stars from time to time, and they have been coach's decisions. Just baffling. |

So the Knicks under coach Thibs and former Laker now all-star Julius Randle are the 4th seed in the east with a record of 17-17. They actually seem to be in a better long-term place than their crosstown rivals. Granted this could all change in a drop of the hat, but still one of the more pleasant surprises in the league right now.
Randle seems to have matured a lot from his Lakers days and is right now the “man” of the Knicks. The new Ewing, if you will. |
