Behind Blue Eyes/Love Reign O'er Me

Not one of their best performances of Behind Blue Eyes, but the version of Love Reign O'er Me is rather strong, especially Pete on the guitar. Which is odd since it's during their rather washed up Farewell Tour, which I happened to catch at the Coliseum out here and thought the better band that night was the Clash, even as they were melting down. :) Anyway, this is from Shea Stadium on the same tour and sounds pretty damn good.

Terrific video & audio capture from the Joad tour, including his spoken intro commonly used on the tour:

Bruce Springsteen: Red Headed Woman

I'm sure Guren is familar with it. :)

My favorite version of my favorite Waylon song:

If You Can Touch Her At All

Studio version of my second favorite song of his, written by KK:

Loving Her Was Easier

Finally found a crisp version:

Sam Cooke singing 'Twistin' The Night Away' and 'The Riddle Song'

My favorite Soul singer and probably one of my Top 10 or (at worst) Top 15 all-time musicians at the peak of his game.

Edit:

'Tennessee Waltz', 'Blowin' in the Wind' and 'Lucille for a bonus double feature (playing guitar and vocals with The Everly Brothers in the last song).

Thanks for posting these Tomer. I looooove Sam Cooke, one of my absolute faves ever since ohtani's jacket sent me a copy of Live at the Harlem Square Club many moons ago. These are f'n great.

I dated a girl in college who was bipolar (or possibly had borderline personality disorder). Whenever she'd get in one of her funks, I'd play the song "Walking on Sunshine". That seemed to be the best thing to pep her up. "Twisting the Night Away" and "Having a Party" do that for me. Never fail to put a smile on my face.

I'd say there's something wrong with this, but it's John Hartford in 1969 so what could possibly be wrong with it? :)

(Hint: note the provenance of this clip, if the background scenery doesn't clue you in immediately where he's performing.)

Let It Be sung by your favorite stars of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Great if you ever find yourself asking, "I wonder what that Milli Vanilli dude looks like now?"

And, just for Mr. Williams, there is a Katerina Witt sighting, but alas no Kristi McNichol. Can you say hot minky? I thought you could.

I was marking out for Tomba popping up. :)

Wait... had Phillip Michael Thomas aged a day in the past 25+ years?

YIKES!!!!!!!

Guren: you didn't warn me that Tonya Harding was right after Hot Minky Witt?!?!?!

:P

Okay... Witt playing the air guitar cleansed me of the Hardingness of the video.

That's actually pretty cool. Wanted to get grumpy about it about 20 seconds into it, but it's pretty well done. :)

Yes. The Witt air guitar is my favorite part of the video. She is over-dressed, though. ;-)
