Everybody wants credit for their work and efforts in some capacity. Nothing wrong with that at all.

So we've been moving forward with this project behind the scenes. We made a choice to break the HOF up into 3 different categories for matches.

Matches that do not exist on tape.
Matches that exist on tape whose main qualification is importance/drawing/historical influence.
Matches that exist on tape whose main qualification is in ring artistic quality.

We assume the ballot will change as some point going forward so if we're still doing this 5 years from now, who's to say what the breakdown will look like. We're going this direction from the start mostly because this is the start. We didn't want to have a 100 match ballot.

We decided to make a Artistic Quality or Workrate or what have you, because PWO is primarily a community that focuses on match quality instead of history. So we wanted to acknowledge that while at the same time understanding that having something like Kobashi/Kikuchi vs Kroffat/Furnas 5/92 AJPW nominated alongside Hogan vs Andre WM III would look really bizarre. You can't have a Pro Wrestling Matches HOF without Hogan vs Andre. But given the footage watching tendencies of Pro Wrestling Only, it would be weird not to acknowledge the artistic quality aspect of wrestling fandom.

Something like that.

Anyway, what I really wanted more was feedback on match selections. Is there anything we're really obviously missing? Is there anything that stands out as not belonging? We have a 12/31/92 cut off for matches. (Note we didn't include repeat matches so Hogan vs Andre Main Event or the other Flair vs Steamboat 1989 matches didn't make the ballot but will probably make it next year when/if their counterparts get voted in).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here's the ballot we've come up with so far:

Category A (matches that their main argument is importance that exist on tape)
1. Rikidozan vs Lou Thesz 10/06/57
2. Buddy Rogers vs Pat O’Connor 06/30/61
3. Rikidozan vs The Destroyer 05/24/63 (I think this exists on tape, I know the december one does)
4. Antonio Inoki vs Karl Gotch 3/6/72 NJPW
5. Giant Baba vs The Destroyer 12/19/72 AJPW
6. Ric Flair vs Harley Race Starrcade 11/24/83 JCP

Crap triple post!

I can't edit that second one out either because this one was a reply and you can't edit post that have been replied to.

When I pressed submit I got this weird message:
"Could not connect to smtp host : 0 : php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

Line : 112
File : smtp.php"

So I kept trying. I was in the middle of emailing John about it (Hi John, hope you're doing well bud!) but then thought "Before I email John, I wonder if it actually posted." and sure enough it did. 3 times.

Hope you enjoyed this word salad. :)
