... and the Spurs beat OKC comfortably at home. It was too much to hope for their aimless play during the Rodeo Road Trip to follow them home.

We are utterly fucked unless we pull this one out of our ass and beat the Clipps.

There are 7 teams that have 25 or fewer wins (Knicks, Suns, Cavs, Bulls, Hawks, Grizzlies, Wizards). The Lakers have now lost to all of them except for the Bulls. They play the Bulls on March 13 in Chicago, so there is still a chance.

4.5 games back, and the Clippers host the Knicks today. Win there makes it 4.5 back of the Spurs and 5 back of the Clipps.

The Clips are up 82-46 at halftime. The Knicks must have enjoyed their Saturday night in L.A.

Cruised home in the second half. 5 games.

The Clipps are half assed trying to tank to keep their pick... and they're ending up better than the Lakers trying to get to the playoffs.

Wait... it's worse:

https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

Quote:
2019 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers

L.A. Clippers' 1st round pick to Boston (via Memphis) protected for selections 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if the L.A. Clippers have not conveyed a 1st round pick to Boston by 2020, then the L.A. Clippers will instead convey their 2022 2nd round pick to Boston [L.A. Clippers-Memphis, 2/18/2016; Boston-Memphis, 6/23/2016]

If the Clippers make the playoffs, this is another piece that the Celtics can toss in the middle to get Anthony Davis. Or move one of their pieces that is a bit more expensive, and keep this as a cheaper player under a controlled contract who is a develop & depth player.

I'm not rooting for us to tank not... but there's are 7 teams with between 27-31 teams that are out of the playoffs, with us at 30. We would be better off finishing near the bottom of those teams rather than at the top. 9th has vastly better odds than 14th when it comes to getting into the Top 4 picks.

I think there was an interview with Ballmer who said they weren't tanking. And based on most of the games as of late, they're not going to. Despite the Tobias Harris deal.

No one is going to admit to tanking. But the Harris deal was a sign that they were willing to miss the playoffs. I don't think that believed the Lakers would suck this much.

Ivica Zubac still watches almost every Lakers game, thinks he could help solve their issues

I am looking forward to the Ivica Zubac revenge game tomorrow. Btw, since the Clips are on a back-to-back and the game isn't as important to them, the Lakers are favored by 4 points. Should be a good one.

Well if the Lakers bounce back, they get the services of Melo:

Getting Melo would just show how screwed up they are. It's over...just play out the season. This shows there inability to judge their own & other's talent....and they inability to figure out what's wrong. They need a reboot. This season as being the fault of the front office . and James. ---Yohe

no Brandon Ingram tonight. He's been their best player as of late, so that adds to their woes for tonight.

Time to lose as many as possible, now. Ingram, Kuzma, and Lonzo are all injured to some extent, so they should be held out for a while.
