Seems as if the Lakers are pressured after Magic's ultmanium of sorts:

They also extended a qualifying offer to Randle. He's restricted.

Just a procedural move:

https://twitter.com/EricPincus/status/1012045870190084098

It's to keep him from walking for nothing without the Lakers being able to ponder what he gets offered from other teams.

Randle is going to want to get PAID. Someone is going to offer him an $18M a year contract for 4 years, and he'll take it. As soon as the offer hits, the clock is going to be on us to move everything fast - you only have a few days to match it, or let him go, or sign&trade him. If Bron and PG haven't made up their mind by that point, things get tense.

Once Randle gets an offer...how long can the Lakers wait to make a decision? It all depends on what's going on with James etc. But I would want to give him his money. He is for real. I would want to see him training this Summer as hard as he did last. I might just go for 18 mil a year. But that might be the highest number I would go for.

If James wants to come in, OK. But I wouldn't dick around with him.

Over the last few years, I've kept asking what you guys thought of Jordan (of the clips). No one ever says anything. Is he a player that can make you better?

If the Lakers make an offer to the center in New Orleans.....that will tell me that things haven't changed & we are shit.---Yohe

Ingram-Kuzma-2 1sts and Deng

Too much for Kawhi?

Switch out Hart for Kuzma?

I don't like it. Too much. It's also like saying everything we did in the last 5 years was for nothing. Something may wrong with the guy. Just him...even if his the same guy we have know...doesn't get us into the playoffs...without the guys we have now. I want to keep Ingram-Kuzma & Randal. Ball I don't care about. I'm say this if the plan is just Kawhi. It's filling one hole & opening two.

Laker fans are pissed off....but that will be nothing if they think the last 5 years was for nothing....if those young guys, who they develop & tried to sell to us...turned out to be bombs.---Yohe

Jordan opting out means Dallas is out of Randle derby.

Leaves just Indiana with cap space. Maybe Brooklyn comes in.

Maybe $10-15M. Likely match that.

It's not hard to create cap space.

For example:

Lakers Fans have a hard on to get Bron + PG + Claw.

The Lakers don't have the cap space.

However, the Lakers can kinda-sorta create the cap space if everything breaks perfectly.

Those breaks are far more complicated than simply trying to fit an $18-20M contract for Randle onto a roster. If a team wants Randle badly enough, they will get it done fairly easy.

I missed your point? Whoís gonna do that (dump salaries and assets) for Julius? Maybe Brooklyn.

If PG wants back to OKC, Iíd be plenty happy with LeBron-Kawhi and resigning Randle.

Would soften the blow if they do have to surrender Ingram and Kuzma and Iíd love to see what Randle looks like playing next to those two. Thatís a grown man front line.
